Breakneck
Flying through the Milky Way,
I find out I was meant to stay,
Free from all ties that slow and bind,
Me to the ground to stay behind.
I've never been quite this far yet,
But I'm still piercing like a jet,
Eyes wide gulp light like oxygen,
Inhaling every place I've been.
Breakneck speeds threaten to kill me,
Safe and sound I refuse to be,
That idol, comfort, never gave,
A single thing except a grave.
So here I am - free as a child,
Running fast and running wild,
Don't be surprised to see me smile,
I've gone exploring for awhile.
And there's no way I'm turning back,
When all's behind's an empty sack.
Please don't expect me back again,
I'm taking this road to its end.
My purpose is to find the gold,
In every eon to be told,
I want to know what our existence,
Will look like from a far off distance.
So I'm flying on fast I can,
To find a very distant land,
Where all the creatures know my name,
And they tell me why it is I came.
Adventure is made for our hearts,
To burst our boxes all apart,
And show us we're still smaller still,
Than a baby ant in a small ant hill.
So here I am, pressing right through,
The atmosphere of what I knew,
And though it burns my flesh and skin,
I know it's the only way to win.
Breakneck I'm plummeting along,
Singing aloud this last swan song,
"And now I know that I belong,
Into the the deep diving headlong."
