The Hills of My Laughter
When glimmers peek out from the inside of me
I remember I'm torn
And in the tearing, made hole
Watch for the warriors rising up on the hills
Of my laughter
They will sing you the songs of ancient victory
Of woven battle scars and bloody symphonies
Resonation is here for the taking
If only you're brave enough
To listen
And to hear
Why are you so kind when I'm so ungrateful
When I dress to impress in gowns that you gave me
And twinkle your Spirit light into eye-vases
Like lighthouse beams I sparked up all on my own
Only time will tell how this running and hiding
Girl
Will find out how to peak out from the covers
Of layered self-doubt
And find her way into places
With no memory of fear
I remember I'm torn
And in the tearing, made hole
Watch for the warriors rising up on the hills
Of my laughter
They will sing you the songs of ancient victory
Of woven battle scars and bloody symphonies
Resonation is here for the taking
If only you're brave enough
To listen
And to hear
Why are you so kind when I'm so ungrateful
When I dress to impress in gowns that you gave me
And twinkle your Spirit light into eye-vases
Like lighthouse beams I sparked up all on my own
Only time will tell how this running and hiding
Girl
Will find out how to peak out from the covers
Of layered self-doubt
And find her way into places
With no memory of fear
