"Can We Fly to Heaven?"
So I had a conversation while babysitting tonight that I think you might want to here a little about.
This particular little boy loves asking deep and incredibly thought provoking questions like, "Why do people have to die?", and "Where is heaven? How do we get there? and Can we fly to heaven?"
I told him about God and Jesus and heaven and love and obedience and after it all, he said with all the sincerity in his little heart, "I want to go to heaven and see God! Why can't I see Him? I miss Him!"
And he started crying. He just kept saying over and over, "I want to see God! Why can't I see Him?!"
I think I understand why Jesus loves the little children so much and why He wants us to accept Him like one of them. Because ten minutes after saying that his doesn't think God is real because he couldn't see him, this little pure-in-heart says that he misses the Jesus I told him about. And he meant it. If there'd been a ladder nearby for him to climb up into heaven to the arms of Jesus, I know he would have done it in a second and never looked back.
I told him Jesus came so we could be good and love Him like he loves us. And he said, "But sometime I can't be good and I just do bad things. I don't want to do the bad things..."
And I told him that we all have a disease called sin that makes us do the bad things and it's in all of us so that we always do bad things when we want to do good. Later he asked me, "What was that thing that makes us do bad things called?" When I reminded him it was called sin, he said, "Is sin like a disease? It's like germs that go all over inside me and go right into my heart and then I forget about Jesus..."
I told him that Jesus knows that we want to be good but we can't be - so he comes into us, deeper inside than the yucky sin germs, and he starts pushing all of it out of us from the inside. So we can be good.
All throughout our conversation, he would say, "Shh, I think I hear God talking to me inside my head", or, "Wait, I think I saw something over in my Mom and Dad's room - I think it's God."
He kept looking around and even once raised his voice and said, "God, I want to see you!"

"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God" Matthew 5
Jesus make us like little children again, pure in heart and un-jaded. I miss you Daddy. I miss you and I just want to be with you where no bad things are allowed in and we can see you with our eyes and not just our faith. Please hurry home Jesus. The little children are crying out to you to come.
